Through our vibrant Evangelism and Outreach ministries, not only has the church been opened, but also extended its hands beyond our own members, far outside the building, to our neighbors. The ministries reach out and embrace young and old to share the heart of God, so that the world may come to know Jesus as Lord, one life at a time.
The Annual Back-to-School Block Party
A much anticipated event for Cheatham’s members and Edgewood community alike. This mission annually provides school supplies, new school shoes, haircut, and many other services for Edgewood students. The event is also a means for sharing prayers, neighbor to neighbor conversation and fellowship, games, food, and fun activities for all.
Angel Tree
Each year near Christmas, the “Angel Tree” would be erected in our Sanctuary, adorned with cards consisting of names of underprivileged children or “angels” with their Christmas wish list. People and the church would “adopt” one or more “angels” and help make their Christmas wishes come true. The ministry would diligently conduct a preliminary check and build a list of the “angels” throughout Van Zandt County.
Prayer Shawl & Pocket Prayer Ministry
Our Cro-Knitters crochet shawls and make Pocket Prayer Quilt for the ill, the grieving, new babies, newlyweds, or simply someone who needs a comfort of prayer in and outside our church. Every stitch is a prayer, every shawl and pocket is blessed. The Cro-Knitters meet every Tuesdays, 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM in Children Fellowship Hall.
EISD Emergency Shoe Box Ministry
An ongoing ministry that needs continued prayers and support. Shoe boxes filled with food and personal care items help homeless children at the school.
